JAKARTA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The wreckage of a helicopter carrying two crew members and six passengers was found in a jungle in Indonesia's South Kalimantan province, an official said Wednesday evening, according to state news agency Antara.
Rescuers recovered a body believed to be a crash victim at about 3:50 p.m. local time, roughly 100 meters from the wreckage, Yudhi Bramantyo, operations director at the National Search and Rescue Agency, told a press conference in Banjarbaru, the provincial capital.
The helicopter, operated by Eastindo Air, lost contact with air traffic control just eight minutes after taking off from an airport in Kotabaru district in South Kalimantan on Monday.
The aircraft, carrying three foreign nationals, was bound for Palangkaraya, capital of neighboring Central Kalimantan province.
Bramantyo said search efforts were continuing, with rescuers believing the remaining victims were still inside the helicopter.
