Magnitude 5.4 earthquake hits Indonesia's Sumatra island

JAKARTA, 9th July, 2025 (WAM) -- A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Lampung province on Indonesia's Sumatra island on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake occurred 114 kilometres from the city of Bandar Lampung at a depth of 73 kilometres.

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage.
