JAKARTA, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and another went missing after a fast boat sank in waters off Indonesia's Bali Island on Tuesday, according to I Nyoman Sidakarya, head of the island's Search and Rescue Office.
"Two people died in the incident, and another is still missing. 77 others survived," Sidakarya told Xinhua.
The fast boat, identified as Fast Boat Dolphin II, was struck by large waves as it neared its destination at a seaport in Sanur area of Bali province at about 3:00 p.m. local time. It had departed earlier from Nusa Penida harbor in the same province.
The local search and rescue office deployed rigid inflatable boats and personnel to carry out search and rescue operations for the victims, Sidakarya said.
