Indonesia's economy grows by 5.12 pct in Q2

JAKARTA, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's economy grew by 5.12 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, up from 4.87 percent in the previous quarter, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) on Tuesday.

"The Indonesian economy, based on the gross domestic product at current prices in the second quarter of 2025, reached 5,947.0 trillion rupiahs," said Edy Mahmud, deputy for balance sheet and statistical analysis at BPS, during a press conference.

On the production side, the other services sector saw the greatest rise at 11.31 percent, followed by corporate services (9.31 percent), transportation and warehousing (8.52 percent), and lodging and food and beverage services (8.04 percent).

Exports of goods and services increased the most (10.67 percent) from the expenditure side, followed by household-serving non-profit institution spending (7.82 percent) and gross fixed capital formation (6.99 percent).

Provinces on Java Island, with an economic growth of 5.24 percent, continued to dominate Indonesia's economic development, accounting for 56.94 percent of the total national GDP.
