6.5 magnitude earthquake strikes off Nicobar Islands

New Delhi , SANA- A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck off India's Nicobar Islands region early Tuesday.

The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres (six miles) 259 kilometers west-northwest of Sabang, in western Indonesia's Aceh province. People in nearby areas felt the tremors.

No tsunami warning was issued, and no deaths or structural damage have been reported so far.
