Indonesian men's volleyball coach aims to defend SEA Games gold

JAKARTA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Jeff Jiang Jie, coach of the Indonesian men's national volleyball team, said on Tuesday that he is aiming to defend their gold medal at the upcoming 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

The 2025 SEA Games are scheduled to take place in Thailand this December.

Jiang said the team will use the remaining time before the regional multisport event to address several areas of weakness.

"The target is to win the SEA Games again. There is still time, and there are still a lot of weaknesses to improve. So far, the team hasn't done enough to secure another victory," he said.

The coach noted that preparing the team for the tournament requires more time and effort, especially given the increasingly fierce competition in Southeast Asia.

He pointed out that rival teams such as Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines have been showing significant improvement in recent years.
