Indonesian gov't is committed to one-China principle: senior parliamentarian

JAKARTA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government is committed to the one-China principle, a position that has remained consistent over the years and is enshrined in official Indonesian documents, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Dave Laksono said in a recent interview with Xinhua.

This principle was reaffirmed in the Joint Statement Between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Indonesia on Advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the China-Indonesia Community with a Shared Future, issued during Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's state visit to China in November 2024.

Dave noted that Indonesia will continue to work with China and other partners to promote peace, stability, and cooperation in the region and beyond under the principles of mutual respect, non-interference, and peaceful coexistence.
