Urgent: 6.1-magnitude quake hits Tanimbar Islands Region, Indonesia -- GFZ

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted Tanimbar Islands Region, Indonesia at 1146 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 6.55 degrees south latitude and 131.08 degrees east longitude.
