Indonesia plans rice exports, humanitarian donations amid abundant stock

JAKARTA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government on Thursday announced its plan to export rice and donate it to countries in need, as domestic stock remains abundant.

Indonesian Vice Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono said that the government had discussed exporting 2,000 tons of rice per month to Malaysia, though no agreement has been finalized yet.

Meanwhile, the government was evaluating how surplus rice could be used for humanitarian missions, including aid to Palestine.
