HANGZHOU, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Olympic champion Zhang Yufei on Friday won the women's 50m butterfly title at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The star swimmer added the 50m butterfly crown in a new Games record of 25.10 seconds, shattering the one Japan's Rikako Ikee made at the 2018 Jakarta Asiad. Her teammate Yu Yiting came in the second place in 25.71 seconds. Ikee won the bronze in 26.02 seconds.
"It was the first time I competed with an illness, so it affected my performance a bit," said 25-year-old Zhang, with tears welled up in her eyes.
Finishing her last race, the gold medalist said that through the Asian Games, she can look forward to the Paris Olympic Games from a higher platform. "I will give myself 95 points out of 100 for my performances at this Games," Zhang said.
Zhang has in total bagged six gold medals at the Hangzhou Asiad, sweeping all women's butterfly titles.
