TEHRAN (Tasnim) - India defeated Iran 3-0 in the AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup Indonesia 2024 qualifiers on Saturday.

With both teams having already been eliminated following defeats to Korea Republic and Thailand, the match at the Buriram City Stadium was a chance to end their respective campaigns on a high.

India, however, started the better of the two and after several missed chances, Raul put the team ahead in the 37th minute.

She added a second just before the break and completed her hat-trick in the 88th minute.

Korea Republic, Thailand and Australia, who confirmed a top two spot in Group B with a match to spare, join the three highest-seeded sides from the AFC U-16 Women's Championship Thailand 2019 -current holders Japan, DPR Korea and China- and host Indonesia in the Finals.

The remaining spot will be decided on Sunday when Vietnam and the Philippines meet.
