SEOUL -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Saturday during his visit to the country's Far East city of Vladivostok, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Sunday.
Kim and Shoigu discussed the regional and international military and political situation, and exchanged opinions on further strengthening the strategic and tactical coordination, cooperation and mutual exchange between the armed forces of the two countries and in the fields of their national defense and security, the report said. SAO PAULO -- At least 14 people were killed when a small plane crashed on Saturday in Barcelos, an inland city of Amazonas state in northern Brazil, local authorities said.

JAKARTA -- A 5.0-magnitude earthquake rocked off Indonesia's eastern province of West Papua on Sunday, the country's meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.
The earthquake occurred at 4:17 a.m. Jakarta time Sunday (2117 GMT Saturday) with its epicenter located 84 km northeast of Tambrauw district with a depth of 10 km, the weather agency said. (Indonesia-Earthquake)

PRAGUE -- Thousands of Czechs gathered at Prague's Wenceslas Square in the Czech capital on Saturday to protest against the government.
Under the slogan "Czech Republic against the government," the rally was mainly against the inappropriate actions of the government on inflation, tax changes and pension adjustments.
