WEST JAVA, Indonesia, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Cirata floating solar power plant (PLTS) project is the first of its kind in Indonesia. The floating photovoltaic (FPV) plant is planned to have an electricity generation capacity of 145 MWac.

The plant is expected to operate with 9 hectares of floating solar panels in Cirata Reservoir, West Java.

Indonesia is one of the largest energy users in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, and the country is targeting to have 23 percent of its energy mix coming from renewables by 2025.
