ISLAMABAD -- At least 18 people were killed and several others were injured Thursday night when a passenger coach collided with a trailer in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said.

TOKYO -- A Japanese cargo ship sank in the Seto Inland Sea off the western prefecture of Ehime on Thursday after colliding with another cargo vessel, leaving two crew members missing, the coast guard here said.

JAKARTA -- At least two people were reportedly killed in floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rain in the eastern Indonesian province of South Sulawesi, an official said on Thursday.

GAZA -- Israeli fighter jets on Thursday carried out a series of airstrikes on facilities belonging to militant groups in the Gaza Strip in response to rockets fired from the coastal enclave, eyewitnesses said.
