HONG KONG -- The Legislative Council (LegCo) of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Wednesday approved a bill allowing authorities to revoke certificates of films that would be contrary to the interests of national security.
The Film Censorship (Amendment) Bill 2021 was adopted in its third reading at the LegCo, giving the Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR government power to direct authority to revoke the certificate of a film whose exhibition is believed to damage the interests of national security. BANDAR -- Leaders of China and Brunei on Wednesday called for bringing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) into force at an early date.
They made the remarks at the virtual 24th ASEAN Plus Three leaders' meeting between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and China, Japan and South Korea.
Signed on Nov. 15, 2020, the RCEP is a mega trade deal between the 10 ASEAN member states and ASEAN's five free trade agreement partners, namely China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. (China-Brunei-RCEP)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia recorded an investment realization of 659.4 trillion rupiahs (about 46.41 billion U.S. dollars) from January to September, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said on Wednesday.
The achievement, an equivalent of 73.3 percent of the total target of 900 trillion rupiahs (about 63.35 billion dollars) in a year, represented an increase of 7.8 percent over the same period last year.
Specifically, for the third quarter, the investment realization reached 216.7 trillion rupiahs (about 15.25 billion dollars), down 2.8 percent quarter-to-quarter due to the Delta variant spread and imposition of the public mobility restrictions throughout July to August, despite growing 3.7 percent year-on-year. YANGON -- Myanmar's Health Ministry on Wednesday announced to lift the stay-at-home order in 44 townships as fewer daily COVID-19 infections were detected.
The announcement said the order will be lifted in 20 townships of Yangon region and 24 townships of Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady regions, Chin and Mon states starting Thursday. (Myanmar-Lockdown-Lift)
