JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday called on Southeast Asian countries to accelerate the implementation of a regional travel corridor.

"The ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Travel Corridor Arrangement Framework which was initiated by Indonesia a year ago needs to be implemented immediately," the president said during his speech at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. (Indonesia-ASEAN-Travel Corridor)

COLOMBO -- Primary schools across Sri Lanka re-opened for students on Monday after being shut for months due to a rapid spread of the COVID-19, officials said here.

PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan -- Security personnel in Afghanistan killed an armed man and arrested five others in the northern Baghlan province, provincial official Mawlawi Mustafa Hashimi said on Monday.

According to the official, an irresponsible armed man identified Wali Jan along with his men harassed people in Khost district, and the security personnel killed him and arrested five of his men during a crackdown on Sunday night. (Afghanistan-Taliban-Arrest)
