ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat, May 16 (PIA)-- The Sultan Kudarat Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (SK-PDRRMO) received a needed boost in its capability with the recent blessing and launching of the new fleet of emergency response vehicles and ambulances acquired by the provincial government.
Sultan Kudarat PDRRM officer-in-charge Lovely Joy Hallegado, speaking on behalf of Governor Suharto Mangudadatu, said this is part of the provincial government's continuing commitment to resilience and sustainability.
These vehicles will be utilized by SK-PDRRMO to immediately provide emergency and rescue services. The ambulances are well-equipped with advanced medical equipment needed for pre-hospital emergency care.
Aside from the vehicles, SK-PDRRMO also gets a new extension building which includes a dining and kitchen area, quarters, lounge and other amenities to make responders more comfortable.
"This is to let our responders feel that we care for them kasi hindi madali ang trabaho ng mga lifesavers," Hallegado said.
Sultan Kudarat-PDRRMO is also set to improve its flow of communication with the provision of additional two-way radio systems for Municipal Disaster Risks Reduction and Management Offices (MDRRMO). (ORVR)
