China Chevrolet recalls cars

Indonesia News.Net Saturday 12th May, 2012

47,000 Chevrolets have been recalled in China due to what has been described as a brake fault.

The Chevrolet Aveo from General Motors is the first of the vehicles to be ordered back for repairs.

The Chinese safety watchdog, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said in a statement that a faulty brake fluid reservoir could fail to alert a driver to low fluid levels.

General Motors, which has recently had record sales in China, is in the process of building its brand in the world's largest car market.

GM sold 227,217 vehicles in April, up 11.7 percent from the same month last year.
